Debian 4.0 image released

Finaly my first image was released this week. This image is a fully BOINC-compatible Debian 4.0 installation. The BOINC source code from 05/01/2007 is already compiled and you just have to follow my ‘How to create a skeletal BOINC test project?‘ instructions. You can also update and compile the code again with the latest version. Just open a console window and enter: $ ~/update_latest.sh
then goto the boinc_trunk directory and run configure and make again $ cd ~/boinc_trunk
$ ./configure
$ make

You can download the zipped image (1,5 GB) here:

Instructions and more information is in the readme.html file on boincadm’s desktop.

The account passwords can be found in the file “README-vmware-image” that is part of the zip file.

I’m now working on a Ubuntu 7.04 and Fedora Core 6 image. The Ubuntu one seems to be easy because it has Debian as base, but Fedora Core is derived from Red Hat and somewhat different to handle.
